Temporary tone test

While our repeater controller is at the body and fender shop, we’d like to try a test of using an access tone for the repeater. This may help cut down on some of the accidental transmissions we’ve occasionally been having. In addition, we want the ability to turn on tone for actual emergencies for the same reason, and it’s best to practice with it.

Accordingly, effective this morning, we’ll be setting a 103.5 access tone and keeping it there for 7 days. This will mean that tone will be enabled during our regular Tuesday night training net. Please adjust your radios accordingly, and let one of the WCARES AECs know if you’re having trouble getting in. Once we get the repeater controller back in place, we’ll figure out a more formal system (possibly including repeater announcements) to indicate when tone is required to get in.
