Morse Code vs text messaging
Hams know why we need to know Morse: it's a fast, efficient way to communicate in bad conditions. However, it's also a way for a 93-year-old to whomp up on a 13-year-old whippersnapper. This C|Net story details a faceoff between a 93-year-old former telegraph operator and a 13-year-old text messager. The OM won in a walkover. So, another reason to learn Morse: it lets you stay competitive even into old age.
